The FreeScan Omni is a new generation of handheld 3D scanner designed for inspection‑ready metrology. Its on‑scanner inspection capability means scanning, meshing and reporting are all handled on the device, so in‑line production checks, metrology lab measurements and field‑work can be completed without a computer. A PTB‑certified inspection module and intuitive templates enable frontline staff to scan parts and receive instant, consistent reports. The system offers metrology‑grade accuracy—0.02 mm accuracy and volumetric accuracy of 0.02 + 0.03 mm/m—and uses SHINING 3D’s patented video photogrammetry (VPG) to verify markers in real time, eliminating the need for coded markers and ensuring consistent accuracy on large objects.

Engineered for portability, the FreeScan Omni is fully wireless and standalone; all processing and inspection run on the scanner, and detachable battery packs allow seamless swaps without downtime. A docking station provides quick charging and automatic Wi‑Fi setup. Four scanning modes support diverse tasks: high‑speed scanning with 93 laser lines, detailed scanning with 25 parallel lines, deep‑pockets scanning with a single line and an IR rapid scan mode for marker‑free operation. With a high‑performance processor, scan speed up to 7.62 million points/s, resolution down to 0.01 mm and a large 580 × 650 mm field of view, the Omni excels at inspecting reflective or dark surfaces and is ideal for automotive, construction, energy and manufacturing applications. The package includes eight rechargeable batteries for continuous scanning (about 1 hour per set) and supports hot swapping.
